2 Stroke Or 4?

OK so I know this has always caused a bit of a stir when bought up around riders but I think this is an interesting subject to say the least which is why I am writing it. I have been a big fan of 2 stroke since my early days of shredding up the playing fields on my little Honda CR80 to back in the day when I could actually afford to race.

4 strokes in the mx world were not really around at the time but I remember the first time I encountered a thumper (YZ 426) and it certainly was rapid.

People say that the day of the 2 stroke is coming to an end. I know a lot of new laws are coming through and I have heard a lot of talk about the demise of the mighty 2 stroke. Personally I think that will be a very sad day if all of a sudden all the big companies simply stop making them. I always think there will be a demand for the strokers judging by a lot of people I have spoken to.

I love my CRF250 but I just find it so much more intense when you're on a 2 stroke. I do not know what it is like in the rest of the world but in England it seems that there is much more emphasis on 4 strokes at the moment

Basically what I am trying to find out...

2 or 4... which do you prefer? Do you think it is a good idea for the big players like Honda, Kawasaki, Yamaha etc etc to simply stop developing the 2 stroke engine? What's your choice of crosser?
